Again we're reduced to pictures - viz
...to the best of my knowledge - Tuesday night = f**k all on - then - maybe then - I'll get some "write up" sorted on both Stalybridge from Saturday, Ashton tonight/last night - and naturally bang in some words about Mossley's latest capitulation up at "Newcastle Brown Trousers" (their new name - daren't stay in the Unibond etc etc etc).
One for Tameside Eye -this weeks bin liner from Tameside MBC was this effort ...wow ....
And another for Tameside Eye - the so-called "renovation" of Stalybridge Station appears to have stopped/stagnated etc etc - demolition done, there's now some kind of "planning permission" problem I'm told - no doubt including including Tameside Council, Network Rail, Trans-Pennine, British Rail Property Board (or whatever they're called these days) and probably about 235 other privatised "fingers in the rail pie"... what a shambles...

Yeah I got one of those bin bags. It went in my black bin along with that housing survey they sent around. I shall be doing one on that later.
Thanks for the hat tip on Stalybridge train station. There does seem to lack a certain presence from builders. I shall put some enquiries in with people at the council. Going off that leaflet we were told that work would be commencing in January and be completed within a month. It didn't, more like the end of February. It is now April :|
Oh forgot to say that those yellow bin bags have been making the rounds since those energy saving lightbulbs have been declared dangerous because of the chemicals they contain.
I have also took some pictures of todays Stalybridge train station shambles from 8 am onwards from when I was there.
Unfortunately I didn't take a snap of the train cram packed as I was too busy trying to get on it. I have taken a picture of everyone on the platform waiting for the next train because they could not get on the earlier train. All were late this morning as far as I am aware.
Just where is James Purnell when you need him??? Oh well, I am going to a meeting on Thursday where David Heyes (Ashton MP) paid £60k. Along with Cllr. Alan Whitehead who is a councillor for Ashton Hurst. He is Tameside's rep for the GMPTE and gets £300 + expenses for each meeting he attends. I have been told it is a meeting held each Friday afternoon for one hour only. I wonder how he travels to get there?
Anyway... I have another rant. Have you heard of Paul Douthwaite? He is the Mossley Labour Party treasurer and lives in Mossley, yet he is standing in ASHTON HURST. Guess what he used to do? He was some sort of business/it director who was very in there with Roy Oldham. I am told that he applied for the chief exec's position, but they gave it to Janet Callendar instead. You now know what he is after... Roy Oldham's job.
Yes I know Paul - in "days gone by" (back in the 1980's) we used to all frequent the "Brit" in Mossley - me and Mrs Smiffy and Paul and Paula. Remember him being big in IT @ Tameside (we had PR1ME computers in common !) Still see him occasionally on the train.
Isn't "son" big in Labour Party too ?
Yes his son is standing somewhere for the Labour party too.
What I don't get is that Mr. Douchebag is standing in Ashton Hurst for Tameside Council and Mossley for Mossley Parrish council on the SAME DAY. Now tell me Mike, how does that one work out?
A fair bet that the Ashton seat in his insurance - cus if you're standing in Mossley - you're up against the "Mossley Raving Loony Party" and "political sense and sensibility" goes out of the window - never mind that the Independents have turned Mossley into a giant housing development (with a little help from Tameside of course !). I wonder if Honorine. looking down from her lofty perch, realises what she started all those years ago - a misguided attempt to save the town has only hastened its demise - and we never DID get "her" Swimming Pool...
