(Trains) £1.5million ....Part 1

...spent on refurbishing Stalybridge Station by its "owners" i.e. Trans-Pennine Express.

In the first of a probably VERY irregular series I give you ... the train information system - now that must have cost a few bob ... and as you can see it has ALL the vital information for the harassed commuter at its very fingertips ....

As you've guessed - the "Welcome to..." message is particularly comforting....

They made a bloody mess of raising the platforms. I would have preferred to have more capacity on the trains and a more frequent service as to a raised platform. I can raise my leg quite high thank you very much.

Have you heard the one about the phone call that comes from "the leaders office" the day before a new exhibition / presentation / opening ceremony at - for example the museum / Portland Basin / Ashton Library etc etc ?

I believe said phone call is making sure that there is a bottle of whisky available at said exhibition / presentation / opening ...

No idea what/who for ...

The majority of councillors are piss heads. Shall have a look into that one.

We hear that a certain council leader made an early leave at a wedding of a councillor in his ward as he expected a full dinner, not a buffet. Oh dear...
