Midweek Stuff - Wed 22 Oct 08

Just a poor excuse to clean out baby cam .....

1. Don't get a tram from Man Picc to town - there's no bloomin tracks - and it's out until end of November (not unlike the real railways where a job that used to get done overnight now entails severe closedown for 245 weeks - ah well that's privatisation for you .......)

2. Apparently this is romanesco - a type of cauliflower - it came in last week's veg box from Mossley Wholefoods - always worth a plug - http://www.mossleyorganicandfinefoods.co.uk/ - looking at the thingy made me think of the Yes album "The Ladder" with all the whirly/whorly bits - I may be mad - you choose ...

3. ALWAYS PUT YOUR HANDBRAKE ON - leaving the car in gear always helps as well - from our works window - the car just rolled back and took out one metal post, seriously naffed a concrete post (and didn't do the rear nearside wing much good either !!) - that's "Facilities Pete" from our place surveying the damage ... my solution to this - use the train - let someone else have the responsibility for the handbrake ...

4. For the anoraks - 'tis the Network Measurement Train 950001 - parked up in Stockport Station yesterday evening .....

The weekend beckons - no trains out of Mossley all weekend (see no 1 above - same sort of stuff) - we're putting it down to them sorting out the Guide Bridge "curve" - although why that should close down Stalybridge to Manchester Victoria as well, Frith only knows - another master plan from the imbeciles at Network Rail (don't forget the bonuses boys !!). This naturally buggers up the Mossley eco-crew on their way to Chorley - although I do believe several are braving the "Rail Replacement Bus" into Manchester. Me - off to Droylsden for some fairytale FA Cup "final" Qualifying Round (as in winners into 1st Round Proper) stuff- yep it's Droylsden vs Belper Town - not proud/scared to say where my sympathies will lie - for obvious reasons (if not obvious, type "Belper" into this blog's search engine - you'll get my drift).

(and if you look at www.mossleyweb.com for last night's game details - the bottom but one pic is mine not Aaron's !!)

Looking forward to an earlier night than .... this morning !!!!!
